KEYNOTE - Risk Based Security Management

Anil Suri, Vice President and Chief Risk and Audit Officer, Pacific Gas and Electric Company is this year’s Keynote Speaker.

Security breaches always seem preventable in hindsight.  Your management transfers all risk to you when they give you a zero risk tolerance but a limited budget. Let's face it - we will always have resource constraints.  As a security professional you need to work on the gap.  You need to evaluate and rank your security risks and prioritize their mitigations, after having explored alternatives, and then communicate to stakeholders the level of risk that remains.  Sounds easy, right? It is not.  It requires discipline, expertise and judgment.  Most importantly, it requires unwavering support and fortitude of your superiors.  You need to continually earn that.

Mr. Suri will walk through a framework and talk about some examples. He is responsible for overseeing the company's enterprise-wide risk management, corporate security, internal audit, compliance and ethics, market and credit risk management and insurance functions.

  1. Share strategies, solutions and challenges on enterprise security issues with your peers in a dynamic networking environment.
  2. Participate in and discuss how security leaders are becoming involved in overall organizational performance.
  3. Registration includes lunch and a networking reception.
